Ford has set a goal to sell 100,000 of its upcoming Fathom electric truck in the model’s first year of sales, which would put it among the best-selling EVs in America, and the best-selling non-Tesla EV.
Ford has been preparing its Fathom electric truck for a few years now, even establishing a “skunkworks” development center to revolutionize its manufacturing methods. (We took a tour of the design studio this May, but didn’t get to see the truck… yet).
The Electric Duo's Take
This is about what I figured the annual sales goal for the Ford Fathom would be. It is being assembled at the Louisville Assembly Plant (LAP) which used to make the Escape and Corsair. In 2025, that plant made about 189,000 vehicles. Ford says the new assembly methods for the Fathom will make production about 15% faster. It is not a direct translation to output but I was still estimating that they can make about 200,000 vehicles at LAP. If you split that between the Fathom and the rumored SUV coming later, you'd get 100,000 for each.
